The mathematical models of scattering and diffraction: the numerical analysis of the long wave behaviour.

Mathematical models of the interaction of plane monochromatic electromagnetic waves and perfectly conducting strip gratings will be discussed. Two models of diffraction and scattering of E-polarized and H-polarized waves (which efficiently describe the wave processes) will be constructed.

The long wave behaviour is interesting for non-destructive analysis (e.g., ultrasound examination of the human body or some testing of the technical equipment). The constructed mathematical models are used as a basis for the following numerical analysis of the interaction of long waves and a gap. The most important numerical results will be shown.
