On 30 June 2025, the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IPPT PAN) held its annual ceremonial gathering in the Wacław Olszak Assembly Hall. The event served as a distinguished occasion to confer doctoral and habilitation promotions and to present the Director’s Awards for outstanding accomplishments in research, education, and organizational contributions achieved in 2024.
The ceremony was led by Prof. Tadeusz Burczyński, Director of IPPT PAN, and Prof. Zbigniew L. Kowalewski, Chair of the Institute’s Scientific Council. It was attended by numerous guests of honor, including Prof. Adam Liebert, Chair of the Board of Curators of Division IV – Technical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, Chair of the Main Council of Research Institutes. Their presence underscored the significance of the event and the high esteem in which IPPT PAN’s scientific community is held.
Among the guests was also Dr. Gabriela Gic-Grusza, who represented the family of Mr. Edward Wróbel – benefactor of the prestigious Edward Wróbel Science Award, presented annually by a special committee at the Institute.
The event not only celebrated individual academic progress and institutional excellence but also reaffirmed the Institute’s continued commitment to fostering scientific innovation and international collaboration.
A notable element of the event was the keynote lecture delivered by Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, titled “Interpersonal Communication as a Foundation for the Development of Modern Societies.” The lecture offered an insightful reflection on the essential role of communication in contemporary scientific and social development.
