Marcin Krajewski PhD became laureate of the 2021 Polska Nagroda Inteligentnego Rozwoju (Intelligent Development Polish Award). The award committee distinguished this young scientist from IPPT PAN in the categories of: Naukowiec Przyszłości, Nauki Ścisłe i Techniczne dla Innowacyjnej Przyszłości (Scientist of the Future, Science and Technology for Innovative Future) for the NSC (National Science Centre) project that he leads on "Nowe, funkcjonalne nanomateriały kompozytowe typu rdzeń-otoczka z rdzeniem żelazo kobalt oraz żelazo-nikiel: wytwarzanie, właściwości oraz wpływ atmosfery utleniania i temperatury na wzrost otoczki" ("New functional core-shell composite nanomaterials of the iron-cobalt (Fe–CO) and iron-nickel (Fe–Ni) cores: manufacturing, properties, and the influence of oxidizing atmosphere and temperature on the growth of the shell").

Marcin Krajewski Scientist of the Future

Marcin Krajewski PhD is graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology (Poland), Université de Picardie Jules Verne, Université Toulouse III Paul Sabatier, Aix-Marseille Université (France) and Universidad de Córdoba (Spain), which conducted a Joint Master Course under the European Program “Erasmus Mundus - Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion (MESC)”. During his academic studies, he completed the internship at the Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Skierniewice, the research internship at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Université de Provence in Marseille (France) as well as he was a participant in the "Ulsan International Program - Summer School" at the University of Ulsan in the Republic of Korea (South Korea). After he obtained a MSc degree, he started his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw as part of the "International PhD studies at the Faculty of Physics University of Warsaw" financially supported by the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP). During the PhD course, he completed two research internships at the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering of Tatung University (Taiwan). In 2016 Marcin Krajewski obtained a PhD diploma in Physical Sciences and started working at the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he conducts the research on the borderline of chemistry, physics, materials engineering, mechanics and nanotechnology. His main research interests are associated with synthesis, characterization and modification of micro- and nanomaterials for applications in the biomedical, energy, and environmental sectors. He also was an investigator in the OPUS project of the National Science Center (NCN), and now he is the principal investigator of the SONATA project supported by NCN. Marcin Krajewski PhD was a scholarship holder of the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP), Center National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and ALISTORE European Research Institute. In 2020 he received a Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists from the Ministery of Science and Higher Education. He also conducts the scientific cooperation with many prestigious research institutions in and outside Poland (including, Tatung University, Taiwan; Jilin University, China; University of Maryland, USA; University College London, The Great Britain).

The Intelligent Development Polish Award is funded by the Intelligent Development Center. The award is awarded during the Intelligent Development Forum - devoted to new technologies, innovations, inventions and innovative investments using Polish technical and scientific thought. The award is a prestigious recognition for both academic and business communities. The awards are granted in several categories: "Resident and investor-friendly local government", "Scientists of the future - applied research", "Scientist of the Future, Science and Technology for Innovative Future".
